When you learn a language, you want to learn useful and interesting things. You also want to to highly expose to the language in order to learn and understand.
To train your French listening, learn new words, in tune with your interests, I have made a list of more than 120 French-speaking channels or programmes on the Internet, with or without subtitles, sorted by topic. ?
How to use this?
First of all, I would like to point out that these are not videos made by French teachers, with French-learning purpose: these are videos made for French speakers. You will listen to real French.
You will be learning or revising topics of your interest (popularisation of knowledge), thinking, and making things (tutorials), while being working on your French listening skills.
These videos should be okay for A2+ – pre-intermediate- upward.
Don’t be afraid of trying videos with no subtitles: depending on your level, some videos will be too hard if the person speaks fast or if there is a lot of humour, but some others will be comprehensible.
With or without subtitles, I encourage you to try: you have to search in order to find the right videos for you.
Choose some topics that you are familiar with (at least at the beginning), be it a topic you are interested in, or the field you are studying or working in. Then you can you can make use of your prior knowledge in this field to better understand new words and expressions. Like in real life!
